I'm on service in the MICU this week, a place that is defined by a huge outlay of resources for what is often a small chance of saving one life. Just thinking about what's happened to USAID ā arguably one of the best ROI you could ever hope to achieve in human health and flourishing? ā is very hard.

Belatedly read this today. While many no longer need convincing that the US prison system is evil, this is among the more damning accounts. As prison populations age we are increasingly looking the other way as folks who donāt even remember their crimes are punished.
