i saw a post the other day that declared analog horror as dead or dying and honestly like...i bet it's one of those "it's not in the public eye anymore, indie horror will always be there, but also yes i guess". sure. at the same time i feel like throwing a tantrum and crying about it

A *lot* of indies (myself included!) who are wide are part of Kobo Plus because they don't ask for exclusivity like KU. Really encourage people to try it out.

Authors are constantly telling people how they made it! It's just that it takes a LOT of hard work and *patience* but people like this didn't wanna hear that advice. They think there's some kind of secret code or magic words that'll let you skip all that.

A more recent one is The Jackrabbit's Ofrenda by @brezerker.bsky.social . 12 months of non-stop loss of loved ones traumatized me until I couldn't function anymore. This book sincerely helped me climb over one of the steepest hills of grief and learn to move forward with what I have left of them.

i genuinely think i would be still so far in self-hatred and shame had I not read Borderlands/La Frontera: The New Mestiza by Gloria Anzaldúa. like. fuck. nothing's hit me as hard as that. nothing's loved me as gently as that.
