Update #3: We have fixed the "TRUE" bug on Nightshade that's been tormenting us for quite some time. The fix also comes with updated drivers for new NVidia chips. The Windows version is ready and available: nightshade.cs.uchicago.edu/downloads.html The MacOS version still needs a bit of time.

The thing thats so insidious about using AI this way is that one of the main ways artists get hired are studios looking for art references and they find us and reach out. This is removing a major avenue to get work if they can just generate nameless derivations of our ideas.

I worked on Draw Steel and I'm super stoked about it! I came in fairly late to do some production layout — primarily for the monster book — but it was immediately clear to me how excited the team was to be making it, and everyone was such a genuine pleasure to work with. Go check it out!

Growing up, when I saw "primitive" movie effects (such as stop motion in the Sinbad movies) I never cared about the believability. I cared about the human ingenuity, creativity and effort. That is why I don't feel anything but repulsion when I watch / see something made with AI.
