Played a session of A Perfect Rock by @deepdark.games on Monday. In it, we play explorers looking for a new home on a jaunt through a galaxy of wonder where we use actual stones as prompt inspiration. Top tier layout and smart design choices throughout made running this game a pure delight. A+

I was teased for pushing games to their limits, & here I go again. I didn't have to go past the recommended player count of @heartofthedeernicorn.com FALL OF MAGIC in class, but I did in the Game Tasters' 1st 2-shot -- as well as adjusting for player attendance in a season of conference travel.

The marketing position at Deernicorn involves spending about 12 / hrs a week playing games. It didn't used to be this way, but I found that if you want your marketing folks to have interesting things to say about the games you carry you need to pay for them to spend time with the material.

Tonight I’m running session 12 of a Temple of Elemental Evil campaign which was one of the first things I ran when I was like 9 years old. The players are a lot smarter than they used to be.

Played desperation at our weekly public storygame meetup. Ithica in The Cards is going on in the background. I have run maybe 8 or 9 sessions of Desperation. This was my first voyage of the Isabell. Such good writing. Such a great system. I hope it inspires many more games.

Super excited for the Future of Games expo in Olympia next weekend! Can't wait to meet more folks in the WA tabletop industry and check out some of the panels. Having the manufactured PPC of Overgrown to share while I'm there is definitely a bonus. Let me know if you're going to be there!

I think a lot about how relationship maps can drive design and play. Here's a map for a six-character game that includes lines of affinity and also primary motivations proximal to characters. Everyone but the king has at least one one-sided relationship. Everyone knows exactly what to do.
