finished UNBEATABLE, game was rad as hell and had some great tracks. REALLY liked the implementation of the different visual styles of rhythm game they used, it felt fun to have to learn new rules at different parts also the minigames were hell distractions but they kicked ass too. i love jank pool

spent all weekend (and thursday) playing through ys VIII finally and had a wonderful time. they did such a good job compared to 7 it's impressive. the characters were all great and the story was good too... dam glad I'm finally getting around to playing these since I put them off for other rpgs.

Ideally, a boss runback maintains some of the initial tension of encountering the boss, and also offers some space to think and strategize. Respawning right in front of a boss means no time to think and therefore no time to adapt, encouraging a "beat head against wall" approach to play.
