More #lowpoly #godot video game action! This time I have enemies flying in formation. If you destroy the leader, the rest will scatter and do their own thing which isn't ideal. But if you attack the rest first they stay as a cohesive block which is easier to deal with!

Decided to spice up the background stars a little. The cool thing about these is they're actually rendered ontop of everything additively, but I make them flicker in and out whether something is obscuring their centres.

Finally have something worth showing with my #lowpoly starfighter in #Godot. It is surprisingly fun to just fly around destroying these asteroids but there are 3000 of them in this scene and most of them break apart to reveal a smaller asteroid within, so it might take a while to get them all...

Decided it's best to go back and recreate the #lowpoly version of this starfighter in #blender. I'll revist a high poly version later. Going to try and work out some sort of launch sequence from a launch bay using this now.

Anyone need any graphic design? Game textures? 3D modelling? Look, if it's a small enough project I'm willing to do it free or minimal compensation. Literally no one is commissioning or hiring me and at this point I'm desperate to put *something* new on my portfolio

Trying to flesh out the design of that #lowpoly starfighter I made in #blender semi-successfully I think. Still feels more like a sketch because I'm not deliberately driving the details as much as I would like but I'm also not super good at modelling so...

I used to be super into designing spacecraft but over the years have sort of maxed out my interest in that particular domain, however once in a while it still Calls to me inb4 'homeworld vibes' lol

#lowpoly Starfighter sketch in #blender I really like how this came out. A lovely combination of ship designs and aesthetics I like and tried out a simple scifi trim sheet collage thing for the texture. The "wings" are meant to be able to fold up under the craft for landing/launching.

Alright! Let's actually talk about this waterfall thing. It is an amazing showcase of many things that I adore from late 90s/early 2000s graphics. I am replicating this in Blender through mere observation, so some things might not be fully accurate to the mind-boggling effects of the PS1.

It was surprisingly difficult to create a truly low poly #spaceship in #blender that meets my strict visual demands of it looking like an FMV from a fictional game between the years 1993 and 1995, but I think this mocked-up VHS found footage does the job and is really cool!

Still one of the best combat space sims of all time and a huge inspiration for me. Can't recommend this one enough

Imma doodling mah spaceship. I have barely picked up a pen and used one to draw anything in years, but I want to be able to draw the things I enjoy looking at. I'm happy with most of this one.

Old procedurally generated #spaceship machine I made in #blender. I would play for days messing with all the parameters and nodes and just render anything that came out especially good. I've got hundreds of these renders gathering dust 😅

#Homeworld Mobile. A little gift to the community; the two versions of the Tanoch Battlecruiser side by side. The Tanoch gifted several of these ships to the Vaygr in their space... I think it was three. We see Jochik flying in one at Star Totek.
