if you are mad about not 'owning' games you need to start exclusively buying games from platforms that give you a digital download without DRM, which you can then back up. you don't own a modern game otherwise, and I'm sure many companies even argue you don't own those downloads.

I do. If you wanted any sort of visibility, you had to email Yahoo and ask to get your site listed in their directory. They would typically accept any website into it (there weren't a lot around at the time), but it would take them 3-6 weeks to add it.
