The fact that we haven't been electing our leaders via popular vote all these years is so incredibly damning. Every vote should have the same weight, or every individual is not equal in the eyes of the state.

We have the Internet. Instant communication. We don't need a representative democracy anymore. We could be a direct democracy, where the people vote on everything ourselves and the only jobs in government are administration and implementation. I'm just saying.

Being into cats feels so debasing. You give everything over to this animal — time, labor, money — but when you want them to sit next to you, they refuse and jump away. When they finally sit on your lap, you sit motionless to the point of physical pain, afraid to disturb them. Humiliating.

I find the people in here screaming "only Congress can do that!" Kind of funny, in a sad way. Like, sibling you need to accept that either A) that's not true, or B) Congress doesn't want to stop it. Because it's happening. It's been happening.

The more I think about the 70,000 ICE incarcerated without due process the more I think we are underreacting. People are literally trapped inside for profit prisons. We need to do something.

Before I transitioned I was a powerlifter. I lost an absurd amount of muscle mass when I started estrogen. Easily cut my deadlift down to 1/4 of what it was. But the training and hard work I put in before and after is the only "advantage" I've ever had as a woman. Sex doesn't matter.

The truly sad part about this specifically for me is that greenpeace is considered a terrorist organization by the us military. I had to prove I was never affiliated despite my overlapping views to get a security clearance. I'm not kidding.

We're cooked as a species

There is literally no reason to give money to bad companies. Every product or service out there has an alternative, and if you choose to keep giving money to the worst of them, you need to admit it's because Convenience is more important to you than Goodness and Justice.

A few have suggested that some aspects of this mission--joy, international teamwork, diversity--are being played up to stick it to the hateful attitude of the administration. But I don't think it's that. I think it's just that those things are essential to and inseparable from a mission like this.

The fact that NONE of the reporting on Artemis II has mentioned and analyzed the Trump 1 space directives that are governing why and how Artemis is happening and to what purpose is an extraordinary #scicomm failure and a sign of how bad journalism about policy and science has gotten
