My developmental editing style is a lot like talk therapy in that I don't diagnose the problem and tell you what to do, but rather ask the questions that make you sit back and reevaluate everything you thought you knew.

Whenever I'm feeling overwhelmed with my editing work, I think back to younger me, who wanted so bad to be in my shoes and had no idea how to get here. I picture myself giving her a tour of my lit world, watching her eyes go wide, and I tell her, "You arrived," and suddenly I'm all gratitude.

My posts used to involve a lot of education. I'd post about how to structure story, how to pitch to agents, how to self-pub. As my community and I grew, we sort of moved on from basics, and now I have no idea what to post about as far as informative content. What would help you?

I'm in such an "ask me anything" mood and fear I don't have enough of a following here yet for it to work. But hey, here's to making habits that will grow! Full time editor here, so hit me with something juicy.
