Agreed and would add: Calgary Transit managers should take transit too. Regularly. Was talking to a CT staffer on the weekend and she noted that it's hard to take the bus to Calgary Transit HQ on 32 Ave NE. That's exactly the CT experience for many Calgarians trying to get to work. #yyccc

I have said it before, I will say it again. Every single councillor and the mayor should be required to take transit from their residence in their ward to work (i.e.: City Hall) once per week. Calgary Transit will better for all Calgarians when the decision makers use the services of the city. 7/

@calgary.ca I am begging you to please reinforce that drivers should yield to all people out side a car even if the are jaywalking, or a child chasing a ball, or a confused dementia patient, or someone in a mental health crisis, or just a person following a desire line.

Boy I'd sure love some real traffic calming, but also just narrowing the road with proper bike lanes on here would truly make such a difference.

Carefully curating where to push the snow off hard surfaces and on to trees and garden beds to maximize the water absorbed by the roots that I expect will be very thirsty further into the summer.

Wish people understood that density makes neighbourhoods more interesting & vibrant. To be sure there needs to be infrastructure to meet demand (parks, transit, schools, community centre capacity-rinks & pools, healthcare, shopping etc) but more neighbours is more allies, maybe even more friends!

Observation from the Calgary budget survey. Seems weird to lump roads with pathways. Could they really not afford one more category in the survey? I want more pathways and protected lanes for biking. I don't really want any more roads or projects that are meant to "improve car traffic" #yycbike

A bit of history from the former councillor for the area. The Sunnyside residents lobbied FOR DECADES to slow traffic on 2nd Ave as the road was extra wide because of the long retired streetcar and drivers would speed through the school zone. March confidently past the naysayers, Sunnyside!

Blanket zoning hearing starting on panel 107 today. Panels will be called in order if there are missing names people who have missed will be called to fill the panel. Hearing will go till 6 tonight as long as there are people there to speak.

Council is discussing ward boundaries. There won’t be big changes. I would think our city would run better if the boundaries were cut along corridors in to our mono city’s core. Every councillor would represent both the centre and the edge. Like this.

Ironically, in Vancouver if you have individual rezonings, it’s attacked as “spot zoning” and in Calgary the new comprehensive zoning bylaw has been aggressively attacked as “blanket rezoning.” It’s almost as if people who are against change, especially new infill housing, are being inconsistent…
