Inspired pasta prep moment: topping my noodles with pesto, sliced cherry tomatoes, and... <drum roll>... those crispy fried onions you put on green bean casserole. Garlic pepper fried onions.

I still have work to do this weekend; I still need to fly to Texas tomorrow for one last client meeting before the holidays; but, with the semester finally finished, I am declaring today a day of rest and only doing nice things that make me happy.

Well, trying to record the narration for my final presentationd was a disaster because I: a) only have Office 365/web versions of PPT on the Chromebook I use for schoolwork b) only have PPT narration tools on my work laptop c) am restricted from sending large files via work email

It never ceases to amaze me how much more productive and focused I am in the morning vs the afternoon/evening. I spent five hours yesterday wrestling with half my PPT presentation; I have accomplished at least twice as much in 90 minutes this morning. I can see the finish line!

2025 Book #53 Kamikaze Diaries: Reflections of Japanese Soldiers by Emiko Ohnuki-Tierney A terribly sad book. Informative. Refined my knowledge of Japanese history. A blunt reminder: nationalism doesn't lead to a beautiful, strong country. Nationalism leads to your children asking why they die.

Every day that national leaders get on camera and say the most racist vile things while smiling and cheering each other, I am utterly disgusted and discouraged. What they want America to be is not what i want my country to be. The opposition doesn't feel nearly loud enough. We need to fight harder.
