definitely dialogue. english isn't my first language, and i'm always a bit scared that my dialogue sounds clunky T-T and i would like to be able to write shorter fics and yap less, lol. i am however very proud of my descriptions! 🩷

i definitely want to improve my descriptions, especially when it comes to adding depth to my characters‘ internal and external worlds. i really struggle with it and i always feel like i’m overexplaining instead of creating more vivid scenes and characters.

i'm generally pretty okay with how i write, but the one part of the process i absolutely drag my feet over are mundane parts. or parts between plot points. i'll sit there staring blankly at the screen trying to get my brain to work

Hmm I’m confident in some stuff, but I would like to get stronger at building emotion and tension? I’m writing things I’ve never written before and would love to sink my teeth into those big emotional moments

grounded prose and dialogue. I’m very good at descriptive writing but it always feels a little unmoored to me and I rly struggle to tie a char’s internal world to the external actions necessary to move a scene and plot along

Illustrative descriptions??? Idk what it's called but when you can paint such a vivid picture with descriptions and using illustrative and figurative language. When you can get such strong emotional reactions and comparisons with words.

figurative language and emotions? i'm very grounded and explicit. i wish i could be a bit more pretty and subtle in how i expressed stuff!

I think descriptions in general. I feel like my vocabulary is a bit limited, which is why I'm always blown away when other authors describe things (places, feelings, gestures, etc) in vivid (and not overbearing) details.

dialogues!!!!!!!!!!

dialog, specifically the internal dialogue of the character. i think it's so impressive and amazing how authors can share so much about a character with the way the character processes the things happen around them. it's so cool.

But I wanna choose all… I’ll always aim for more evocative descriptions. They set the tone so well but my brain just doesn’t always work the way I want it to

I think I'm ok with descriptions! They're my favorite to do and I feel like I'm ok at that. I definitely want to improve though

worldbuilding! so I can actually plan ahead and not have to rewrite the beginning half the time😅
