Seeing UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer being forced to resign as a part of an engineered right-wing propaganda campaign is truly devastating and it gives me PTSD from when President Biden suffered the same fate as a result of the same attack.

When Margaret Thatcher resigned, the departure of a PM was such a big event that our physics teacher wheeled a TV into the lab so we could watch the news. Now my kids don't even look up from their phones.

A Prime Minister should be replaced if and only if they risk destroying the economy/country (Truss). Parties can squabble internally all they want, but if they are going to impose a new Leader/PM on the country, they should be required to call a General Election.

But why has he quit please?

The problem with replacing the Prime Minister every year or so is that all policy ends up (mis)guided by short-term thinking and crude populism - which is no way to run a country. It also means that *no* Prime Minister (including the replacements) can or should expect to see a term through.

Considering my first job (the only job before I became self employed) was £12k a year at 18yo, and I’m a young millennial… dare I say, duh!

Daveigh Chase, child star known for Lilo & Stitch and The Ring, dies aged 35

Heartbreaking news–Daveigh Chase was incredibly talented, 35 is way too young. RIP, and condolences to those who knew and mourn her.

We are very sad to learn that actress Daveigh Chase has passed away at just 35 years old. Chase memorably played Samara in The Ring back in 2002, and also appeared in Donnie Darko. She voiced Lilo in the animated movie Lilo & Stitch, and later starred in the TV series Big Love.
