I'm continuously surprised how grief shows up and scrambles my brain. Even with keeping up with healthy habits, going to therapy and doing EMDR, and making new meaning in honor of my loved ones.

I wrote an article for @petworthnews.org about a 911 dispatch mistake in Petworth this summer and how it is a part of an ongoing series of serious dispatch mistakes that are intentionally not being investigated. If you expect 911 to work in an emergency, 8+ minute delays are dangerous.

Last year my mom died in a hospital. I sat with her every day for 2 weeks. She would wince from pain so I would call the nurse for morphine. My mom would wave them off, saying no to meds. She waved them off because she was worried about the cost and didn't want burden us with her hosp bill. 😭
