James Cleverly was elected in 2019 on a manifesto commitment to abolish section 21. If the Government of which he was a member had seen the Renters (Reform) Bill into law instead of bottling it, he (and everyone else who has been evicted in the meantime) would have been safe.

More good news for renters from Rightmove data, ie new tenancy rents, indicating no shortage of listings on the eve of the Renters Rights Act changes. Don't know how long these conditions will last but right now wages are rising faster than rents

Email from a letting agent ➡️ All tenancies will become rolling on 01/05 & landlords will only be able to raise rent through a S13 notice. Offering long tenancies or fixed rent increases is meaningless! ➡️ Bidding wars will soon be banned & rent in advance limited to 1 month - cant come soon enough!
