PSA: Bluesky's new auto-tagging moderation stuff is a disaster. Disable it. Go into Settings on the Bluesky site and enable adult content and set everything to Warn at most, which makes posts opt-in. Hide just vanishes posts. Then go into Advanced/Bluesky Mod Service and do the same on everything.

dear god just saw how an it looks when someone's hit with the account wide adult content warning and it's fucking MISERABLE blurred icon, blurred banner, every single post is hidden, even text posts, and posts that have images require you to hit unhide TWICE for the text and image, fucking nightmare

Bsky is apparently gonna start flagging whole accounts as nsfw soon so if you don't already know about your moderation settings, highly suggest switching nsfw from Hide to Warn; otherwise many creators will completely vanish from your timeline when they roll this out.

just to add to everyone else saying it, the nsfw account labeling is obviously very stupid. i'm sure the point is to try to avoid some local puritanical law or to placate some dipshit investor but it's massive overreach and is non-functional compared to the old system

I'll say what Bluesky fails to address in v1.122 They've rolled out a new "adult content" tag applied on an entire account, hiding all their posts from users, including text posts, even if they may be SFW This update, while well-intentioned, defeats the whole purpose of the content filters system

wow you overriding moderation and labeling entire accounts adult content instead of letting the users label their posts is a dumb choice. it also forces people to have to allow all nsfw instead of choosing to click through at their will. why cant you just pretend not to be openly hostile towards us.

Staff being able to apply an adult content label to an entire acct overrides the label function and is not a good thing. Do you know how many newcomers don't know that their default moderation settings hide us from view completely and they just assume we don't exist? This is shoving us out of sight

The new Adult Content (Account) label is extremely poorly handled. Effectively muting entire accounts if a user chooses to use image filters is an egregious level of censorship. Please reconsider this change, or at the very least create a separate toggle for the account level filter.

Putting blanket labels on accounts that overrides their own personal moderated/curated post settings defeats the entire purpose of labeling posts in the first place. Individual post labels was one of the biggest advantages BSKY had over Twitter. Account-wide labeling just repeats the same mistakes.
