Alice Wong, a writer and activist who was born with muscular dystrophy and who fought relentlessly for equal rights and access for people with disabilities, died on Friday. She was 51. nyti.ms/4r9WqEr

In the last chapter of Alice’s memoir, “Year of the Tiger,” she wrote her own future obituary. The wonderful “oracle, storyteller, cyborg, trouble-maker, activist, night owl” we loved so much closed it with: “Enjoy all of Alice’s good shit, and may you create some good shit as well.”

This will theoretically be resolved today. Fingers crossed!

One of my favorite classes ever at Pitt was “Scorsese/Spielberg” and this year has been a great year for someone who loved that class. First the amazing 50th anniversary documentary of Spielberg making Jaws, and now this extended documentary series on Marty Scorsese. I am in heaven!
