This morning in #Pittsburgh the SpaceX Falcon 9 launch was visible from the West End Overlook and it was incredible to see. The rocket and exhaust were illuminated by the rising sun just as it was centered over the city. My favorite rocket launch image to date.

Meant to post these last week! On Friday I had the opportunity to tour the new terminal at @pitairport.bsky.social and it was such an amazing experience. It’s so close to being complete, and I loved seeing how open it was. The ceiling is a work of art, and I can’t wait to travel when it’s all done.

The farthest away I was to #Pittsburgh to capture the moon was 12.4 miles, and last night I was just shy of that at 9 miles but it worked out perfectly. The moon rose right beside the Steel Building, making for an unbelievable composition.

Downtown #Pittsburgh looked incredible tonight at moonrise, and I was even able to capture it behind the Gulf Tower. Even though the river wasn’t smooth, I kinda dig those shimmering reflections.

A view from yesterday morning and what might be one of my favorite images of the Iron City clock in #Pittsburgh. I actually captured this one from a few blocks away, and I think it's kinda cool how the clock just looks like it's floating above the South Side.

A foggy start to the day in #Pittsburgh this morning, and the view from the West End was the perfect spot to capture it. The fog was actually rolling in from the east (it normally comes up the Ohio from the West), so it was cool to see a wall of fog behind town.

Flying home from Iceland last week I had the incredible opportunity to pass over Greenland. It was something that I never even thought of doing, but when I looked out the window it was like looking at an alien landscape. Just incredible to experience.

A few recent film scans that I got back, all captured in the Strip District in #Pittsburgh. My favorite one is that first image of the pigeon walking in the crosswalk...it's just the type of image that film is made for.

Spent the week in Dublin and man was it fun. Bit of a whirlwind trip but I packed a lot into it, from Trinity College to pubs to churches and the bridges. So many images to share, but we’ll start with a view of the Temple Bar. It was a bit packed for my taste but still fun.

A few images of Edgar Thomson Steel outside of #Pittsburgh yesterday morning. I biked from downtown to McKeesport (about 34 miles round trip) and captured a bunch of images along the way. The light yesterday was perfect.

Never really thought the focus of one of my #Pittsburgh timelapses would ever be a clock, but that was the case last night. This is a little over an hour of the Iron City Clock before it was turned on yesterday evening and it came out way cooler than I thought it would. youtu.be/XAopo3IidTE

The Iron City Beer clock is officially lit in #Pittsburgh and it’s the perfect addition to the South Side. So many images and a timelapse to share but these are some of my favorites from tonight.

Trying to nail down just four images to share for World Photography Today is nearly impossible, but I'll try. From #Pittsburgh to Italy, and Death Valley to upstate New York, photography brings me a lot of joy and I'm so happy that I get to share it with so many people everyday.

A few days ago I headed into #Pittsburgh to capture some views of the old Duquesne Brewery clock, which is now a fiery red now that Iron City Beer has taken it over. It won't be turned on until later this week, but last week in the morning sunlight it looked so cool.

Some incredible scenes in #pittsburgh this morning as the Perseid Meteor Shower was visible over the Steel City. The first image is a 470 shot composite of stars creating steaks over the city, and the second one is just the meteors. Also pictured: Saturn and its rings and Jupiter with its moons.

The moon looked amazing last night as it rose behind PPG Place in #Pittsburgh from the West End Overlook. It’s been a while since the moon lined up with the city from here and I tried to take full advantage. Lots more images to come!

Both of these images of the moon and PPG Place in #Pittsburgh were captured this evening, as the moonrise in the city was incredible. I have so many images to share, but these are definitely some earlier favorites.

Recently got some film back that I shot at Kennywood Park and I think I may exclusively shoot film there. The vibe just could not be more perfect, and these images just make me feel like I'm back there as a kid.

Took a little break from social media as we were in Virginia Beach for a week, but I made sure to catch the Schwirian Farm sunflower festival last night. I was shooting some portraits in the fields but spent some time capturing the actual fields before and after the sessions as well.

Really enjoyed #Picklesburgh in #Pittsburgh yesterday. Spent over 10 hours downtown capturing scenes from the Clemente Bridge to downtown, and the layout made a huge difference. The food and drink were delicious, the music and activities were fun, and it seemed like everyone had a great time.

I’d say #picklesburgh is a success on day one. Downtown #pittsburgh is packed with people enjoying every pickle, and it’s awesome to see.

It's time for another year of #Picklesburgh in downtown #Pittsburgh this weekend, and this morning the bridges were lit up green to kick off the festival. It's such a fun time, and as someone who enjoys pickle beer, I'm looking forward to enjoying a few to cool off today.

This morning's moonset (the wide angle) and the moonrise this evening in #Pittsburgh. Heckuva day to be out to capture the moon. Clouds on the horizon nearly spoiled both views, but all in all they worked out just fine.

It was nice to see some color in the sky over #Pittsburgh this morning. Nothing too crazy, but the different layers of clouds caught the light nicely, and the foliage along the West End made for a beautiful framed for the city. All in all, a solid morning.

Whether people were tied off in a string of 24 boats on the Ohio River, parked on the Ft. Pitt Bridge, or packed in like sardines on the Roberto Clemente Bridge, it seemed like everyone was out in #Pittsburgh to enjoy the July 4th fireworks last week.

What an awesome fireworks show in #Pittsburgh tonight. I had the opportunity to capture it from a unique perspective on Grandview Avenue, the being at eye level with the fireworks was just so cool. These are some favorites but I'll have a bunch more tomorrow.

Happy 4th of July everyone. This morning #Pittsburgh was lit up red, white and blue in honor of the holiday, and I just love capturing the city when it's so colorful like this. There was even a soft pink backdrop in the sky at sunrise, which was just the icing on the cake.

The fog never really materialized as I hoped it would in #Pittsburgh, but the way the early morning sun lit up the bit of fog that was there made for some beautiful scenes. The river was also surprisingly still given the barge traffic.

Another view of that amazing rainbow in #pittsburgh last week on this dreary day. The scene on the West End was just incredible, as the rainbow was so bright and framed the city perfectly.

Awesome night in #Pittsburgh watching the Riveters win the division with a goal in the final seconds of stoppage time. The game was exciting, the sunset was beautiful and the fireworks colorful. Doesn’t get much better than that.

A rainbow frames the Mister Rogers statue and downtown #Pittsburgh this evening from the North Shore, and while it had begun to fade by the time I got there (I capture it from the West End first), it was still plenty visible. Talk about an amazing view.

A few weeks ago I spent a morning running around #pittsburgh capturing the moon and had a bunch of luck on the 16th Street Bridge. The set perfectly on the top of the Highmark Building and in the spires of PPG Place, making for some really incredible scenes.

Three years ago tonight mammatus clouds lit up in the sky over #Pittsburgh and created one of the most amazing and uniques scenes I've ever captured. To this day I cannot believe how incredible they looked.

We've had some decent sunrises over the last few days in #Pittsburgh, but this morning's might be one of the best of the year. The way that the clouds caught the early morning light was amazing, and there was color in seemingly every corner of the sky. An amazing start to the day.

What a sunrise in #pittsburgh this morning. A perfect mix of colorful clouds and reflections in the Ohio River really made for an amazing view. I haven’t shot sunrise from this spot in a long time, at least not a colorful one, and today was certainly the morning to be there.

I’ve shot #pittsburgh from this spot during full moons and fireworks, but never at sunrise. I’m thinking that this view would make a great four seasons set, and luckily the springtime one is out of the way. Love how the steps lead right through the scene.

Some ridiculous light in #Pittsburgh this morning after the fog burned off, and the incline was the perfect place to watch sunrise. Love how the sunlight and fog around the incline gave the scene this amazing glow.

I know I've been off of here for a bit, but I really plan to be more consistent in my posting. Today is a good day to start, as on this date in 2016 I shot one of my favorite images of #Pittsburgh, of a lightning bolt that actually hit the river. I've never seen anything like it.

It goes by many names. The Steel City. The ‘Burgh. The Golden Triangle. City of Champions. But my favorite word to describe #Pittsburgh? Home. Happy 412 Day everyone. Not that we need a special reason to celebrate the black and gold, but I’ll take it.

A collision of seasons this morning in #Pittsburgh. I've been hoping for years to capture snowglobe views that included the cherry blossoms on the North Shore, and this morning I finally got that opportunity. There was even an amazing sunrise afterwards, and I'll be sharing those images soon.

Three different perspectives of the same trees around the Rachel Carson Bridge in #Pittsburgh, all captured over the last week and the one from above actually shot tonight. The first one is my favorite, where the trees and their reflections frame the bridge perfectly.

Another lightning strike from yesterday morning in #pittsburgh, this time around 3:30 from Mt. Washington. Like the combination of cloud to ground and spider lightning in this view as well. As much as I love capturing the city all year long, nothing beats middle of the night storms.

Early morning lightning strikes in #Pittsburgh today. I actually made two trips into the city, one at 3:00 and one at 6:00 (when these were taken) and have a ton to share. Sharing these images first on here though...trying to not have the same images across all socials all the time.

Happy Pirates Opening Day everyone. Headed into #Pittsburgh this morning to capture some unique views of PNC Park and these are some of my favorites. The panorama stretches from the Clemente Bridge all the way to the other side of PNC Park...just so cool.

Sheffield Street in the Manchester neighborhood of #Pittsburgh is one of my favorite spots to visit in the spring, and a few days ago the trees looked amazing backlit by the setting sun. Even caught a little flare above the houses, making for a beautiful view.
