That was far too much drama for me. My heart was going so fast near the end. Very pleased to get 2.5/5 vs Opponents that were almost all higher rated. Didn't think i'd do this well but I just kept on battling and got 1.5 points today when I easily could have only got 0.5 or even 0!

Game 5/5 Got an interesting opening position was unfamiliar with it. I kept having tough decisions to make.They sacrificed a ROOK but missed that I could take it with my king.Was a dramatic end where they were down to 1 minute and they traded queens and it ended up as a draw.Wow! Game 4/5 Had an opening both of us were quite unprepared for. I think I was quite a bit worse but it got tactical and I got the better out of my opponent. 2 wins from 4! Lets see if I can close the tournament out with a win

Game 3/5 Improvised well in the opening and got a decent position. Wasn't ambitious enough so ended up getting dominated in the middlegame. Think my first game took it out of me so didn't make the best decisions. Ah well! We live and learn. Need to just try and get a good sleep tonight.

Game 2/5 Was black vs someone 300 points higher rated. He played something offbeat which I wasn't expecting so was out of book on move 2! Was a decent fight and ended up losing in time trouble. I made him work for it and am pleases with my effort despite losing.

Game 1/5 of the Durham Chess Congress I won! Had an interesting game in the Grunfeld in a line that I vaguely know. My opponent told me he was going over this a few hours ago but couldn't quite remember how he was meant to play After he played c4 and Qb5 I think I was winning.Very pleased with that!
