What makes me think the designs in the new star fox have a bit of off-model thing is cause to me its like how eggman looked in Sonic 06, Like yes it is eggman but cause they are trying to look realistic, It really highlights how goofy/off it actually looks in practice.

New StarFox is heinous in more ways than I can really describe. We'll be referring to this as "StarFox '26" with the tonal disdain of "Sonic '06" before to long. Now I'm also concerned it may look that way because the movie is going to look like that, too.

Don't get me wrong, I still think this is the wrong direction for SF overall, and I have far more concerns beyond just how it LOOKS. But I'm really trying to be minimalistic / change as little as possible to show how easily you could make this at least -look- OK.

not that anyone cares but since i slept on it i think i know what bothers me about the new star fox designs >animal head. human torso, arms, hands, hips. animal legs. the proportions are all wrong. very MCU rocket raccoon looking. could be a lot better looking if everything had nicer proportions

Aesthetically I'm intrigued. It's like a gritty realistic reboot but without the grit or realism? Sure the character designs are a lot less stylized and more animalistic, but it's not like they're going for hyperrealism. I don't love it because it seems to limit expressions, but... I don't hate it.

I am not at all surprised that Nintendo is rehashing Star Fox 64 again. The franchise has always been a skin to wrap around whatever tech-demo they want try flaunting out each decade, and since fans mostly say that 64 was the pinnacle why NOT just keep the skin the same and just clean it up a bit?
