Helllo my driving test is in 3 hours and I have not slept

I recently remembered some trauma that sort of gives some context for disliking FFXIV I remembered that my abuser loved it. I actually asked her if we could play together bit she wouldn’t let me. She said she’d be embarrassed to be seen playing online w/ me, and refused to talk to me about the game

In my experience some people don’t like when artists talk about needing validation (to an extent) for motivation. Absolutely you need to draw for yourself but there’s only so far you can go at bigging yourself up. Morale is very powerful!

Also it's really funny how all the "but you like it, that's all that matters" posts are just soft dunks by people already established

please understand. artists don't get nearly as much feedback (praise, comments or otherwise) as you think they do. much less than years and years ago. we don't know how much you like it. we don't know how it affected you. unless you say something, or recommend it, comment, reblog. anything.

go tell your favorite artists you like their work. you may think they hear it enough or your praise would be identical to someone else's so you say nothing, but i promise you they would love to hear it. and sometimes they need to hear it.

The deafening silence from posting art is a huge motivation killer no matter how much you yourself like it. And if you're trying to improve your work, no feedback just reads as 'try again' so please say something c:
