Let's be honest. As a teacher, I'm not putting my real name on here.
When I subscribed to Wired they were doing great news and holding DOGE accountable. Now on their homepage we see articles talking up genAI movies, "Trump's least favorite cabinet members," and this crap giving Cybertruck owners and Jan 6th insurrectionists a platform. What happened?

âźď¸ this is one of the reasons why the Musk shutdown of USAID broke me, like Congress said 'we're allocating these funds to save lives' a random asshole with too much money and unresolved bitterness about the end of Apartheid said 'no you're not' so the funding disappeared?? and people are dying??

Switched to a new playthrough of Hollow Knight because I still canât beat Lost Lace and I need a brain reset. Bug Knight just feels like he moves at a glacial pace now, even with all the movement tech. And I found myself face tanking a lot more enemies. Still brilliant, but the swing is crazy.

it's wild how confusing it is to watch a politician who thinks we should like, all get human rights and be able to afford to live, but also is inviting us (generic, not me sob) to do joyful things with each other too

Not that anybody comes to me for Maine politics, but the fact that the Democrats successfully convinced a 77yo Governor to primary the 41yo progressive, is today's example of why the Democrats fucking stay failing. Susan Collins is 72 and if Schumer gets his way, she'll be the YOUNGER choice!

A lot of comments on Mars rovers or Moon landings, but it's important to remember that the planet NASA studies most is Earth. This is less about cutting flashy things like moonwalks and more about keeping communities in the dark on climate, weather, agriculture, pollution, natural hazards, and more.
