People with trauma histories often interpret neutral cues as negative. "You can come if you want." sounds to them like the person doesn't actually want them to come. Affirming that you want them there helps remove any doubts.

friendly reminder that you didn't waste your year. any moments of happiness or comfort. any small accomplishments, they all matter. this has been a really hard year, and simply surviving is something to be proud of.

I liked this earlier today, and already I am clinging to it. Remind yourself of beauty. Even if you are on the very knife-edge of alone, we are still in this together. In German so it sounds weird. Or perhaps Welsh. They already know we're weird. Why can't we appreciate the world better, too?

Like, how could they ever have sold such things and how many times as many 69 ones must they have done in the past before 67 started? 67 doesn't bother me so nobody really tries it with me but I have taught younger kids math and when the answer is 69 you need so much professionalism to act normal!

It really is necessary. I had to convince some teens recently that AI was wrong on a simple, obvious, easy-to-check fact and they said, "no, I asked AI so I know I'm right". As AI is trained better and better and harder to avoid, this will be harder to do, so it's best everyone learns it now!
