One thing missing from especially #tolkien adaptation conversations is the fact that bad adaptation ≠ equal bad movie. My favorite example of this is The Count of Monte Cristo (2002). The chief message of the novel is that revenge is bad, but the movie is a perfect revenge fantasy popcorn movie.

One thing about me: I don’t have much of a sweet tooth, but if there are Welch’s fruit snacks near me, I will eat them until I get sick.

As I have hinted at on here, I think my least favorite part of the #hobbit movies is the cartoonishly over the top action. I was surprised to find the Battle of Five Armies to be the least egregious on that front. Most of its action is a return to form for Peter Jackson with big, epic battle action

I love this line in #LordoftheRings movies because it’s just a nice little nod to Tolkien’s absolute obsession with the archaic definition of “doom” (as simply a synonym for fate, without inherent negativity)
