I don't "consume" media; I interact with it, I ponder it, some of the themes and imagery stick with me like deep splinters. I go on journeys with it. I experience it. I am tired of people saying "consume" when it comes to stories, art, writing.

One of the common denominators I've noticed amongst people who are (or try to be) bullies both online and IRL is that they have no real network of friends IRL. All or most of their socialization is online, and those relationships are surface-level and tenuous at best.

But there is danger in being too online and having little to no understanding of the world outside of the internet. You may start to see people as avatars and not people. Might fall into dangerous patterns of thought that dehumanize others in favor of the fiction you cling to like it's real.
