Yup! I remember telling someone that JRPGs are niche using a similar example. Then it clicked for them lol. People seem to think a couple games in a genre being mainstream means that the GENRE is mainstream. That’s not how it works lol

Also on the topic of the FGC, I kinda miss that era where they were so bitter about Smash having EVO slots...that they pushed the "Smash isn't a figthing game" agenda. They were pushing some INSANE logic and just making up parameters on the fly until they had to resort to "Sakurai said it isn't"

I like how the FGC is in a permanent loop of theory-crafting about why the genre isn't as big as say MOBAs or etc. Then also theory crafting as why not all FGs are a popular as SF, Tekken and MK lol. Like sometimes it just is what it is lol.
