Noticed this comment by @jeetheer.bsky.social at the FB Marvel Method page. Kirby would have been familiar with Doc Savage but the team of mixed personalities goes back much further. Kirby mentioned Dumas in several interviews. I'm sure the team comprised of contrasts is ancient.

Let's be frank. Fans of Stan Lee are just plain stupid. And I mean dumb as fuck.

What was Kirby doing with punctuation? In written music it's called notation. Musical notation indicates how a piece of music is to intended to be performed. The idea that an composer or author should not take advantage of the tools available is absurd.

It's funny to me I know more about Stan Lee than fans of Stan Lee.

There was a time when every comics pro (even Stan (ITEM!) Lee) knew why comics used exclamation marks in lieu of periods. Logically if one exclamation mark is a period then it indicates nothing other than the end of a sentence. Adding two or three was used to indicate an actual exclamation. But ???

I was sent this comment by @tonypuryear.bsky.social. Absolute nails. There are objectives standards in writing as well as music and art. Standards which are as measurable a 40 yard dash time. People who say Kirby could not write dialogue are simply either idiots or have a very small reading list.

Jim Amash interviewed Rudy Lapick who was on staff at Timely until around 1950 and Lapick told Amash that he found it very unnerving when Lee would tell people they were fired. Al Jaffee told Amash that Lee used to "tease" people like that "all the time" but many would take it the wrong way.

Early 1967 Jack Kirby short autobiography

JL Mast has a business document dated June 16, 1958 which indicates that Martin Goodman planned to shutter his comic book publishing division. June 1958 happens to coincide with the death of Joe Maneely and Jack Kirby beginning to sell freelance material to Goodman.

Nothing said to have been invented by Lee or brought back by Lee was invented by Lee or brought back by Lee. In every case it was already being done by Jack Kirby.

Howard Purcell describes Stan Lee. It's identical to other accounts from the late '60s into the '70s. Lee is never seen telling a story. Rather Lee acts out a fight scene. In this way Lee not only took writing money for stories he didn't write. Lee attempts to imply even the action was Lee's doing
