Was out on my walk on the trail today and turned a corner to find an armed cop, just standing there. No apparent reason, just him and his gun deciding they needed to be on a random walking trail. Wish we had 2 kinds of cops: armed & unarmed, and the armed ones could only go where guns were needed.

Random thought: I don't think I've ever been in international waters. Every time I've been on a boat/ship it's been within U.S. mainland territorial waters (12 nm), or Hawaii, Kenya, Italy, or (maybe) Greece. Travels elsewhere (France, UK, Netherlands, Mexico) never involved being on the water.

I listened to a terrible program today on NPR where someone from LinkedIn suggested that older folks should just "become AI experts" to solve the fact that nobody was hiring them, and all I could think was that that person doesn't understand anything at all about AI, or jobs, or hiring.
