Saw Project Hail Mary over the weekend and I have a few thoughts: It was decent. I enjoyed my time with it. 7/10. Since the pandemic the quality of audiences has gotten worse. I deal with so much more talking and phone usage during movies now than I ever did before. Assigned seating is dumb.

Attended wasteland weekend for the first time. Goddamn was that fun. I'd highly recommend it to anyone that wants to dress up mad max style in the desert for a few days and party with awesome people.

Watched MadS last night and can't stop thinking about it. The amount of adrenaline and energy in this movie is off the charts and it being a single continuous shot amps that up even more. Highly recommend to horror fans. Not for the squeamish.

Lazy Sunday watching movies: Love, Death, and Robots season 4: mediocre overall but How Zeke Got Religion is great. Fear Street: Prom Queen: a very enjoyable 5/10 horror movie. Very in line with the vibe of the original books for better or worse. And it has songs by Powerglove!

We, collectively, have to find a better way. We gotta stop giving our time and money and energy to the megacorporations and their creatures. We gotta get small, on our own sites, off the toxic social media. We gotta foster genuine connections and topple the gatekeepers.

Just finished Deathloop. It might not be quite the same level of game that Prey or Dishonored are but damn was it a fun ride. The way the game empowers you with not just more powerful guns and abilities but also knowledge over successive time loops is really cool.

Mega Empires day today, I'm playing Maurya and starving my people with maximum efficiency.

I think bad design has become something of a plague. On the board game side you have trend chasers designing for the kickstarter page, on the video game side you have people designing for the live service/microtransactions that they can stuff in. Why do it? There are easier ways to make money.

I made a Doom source port that runs within a PDF file. PDFs support Javascript, so Emscripten is used to compile Doom to asm.js, which is then run within the PDF engine. Input/output is done by manipulating text input fields. doompdf.pages.dev/doom.pdf github.com/ading2210/do...

First book of the year done: Bunny. Good... um... Horror? The Jennifer's Body comparisons are spot on but I don't know if it's actually horror or weird psychological drama. Either way I was happy to be along for the ride. Very dreamlike.
