Frankly exhausting how many people's analysis of the current multifaceted situation the world finds itself in boils down to "people without power should be nicer to people with power."

A politic grounded in disability justice prepares you for all of this and more. Ableism & its manifestations (eugenics, racism, necropolitics, transphobia, &c) are the root of all the evils we face. There’s no preparing, resisting, or liberation without disability justice & disabled people.

If you think it's unrealistic or unserious to do what we would need to to actually prevent the ongoing spread of COVID and mass disablement it continues to bring, wait till you hear what we gotta do to deal with climate change.

The word "serious" is often used to prevent us from imagining the kind of action we need to take to make a better world. Actually engaging with climate change? Not serious. Sopping genocide? Not serious. Dealing with COVID? Not serious. Universal health care or UBI? Not serious. Etc.

My partner has prior disabilities that make her high risk from even a single COVID infection. There are lots of immunocompromised and disabled folks in the same boat. Until we're not willfully abandoning those people and forcing them out of society we're still in a pandemic as far as I'm concerned.

Even if somehow gen AI actually could do all the things its advocates say it can (which it can't!), I'd still rather read mediocre or flawed writing by an actual human than amazing and perfect writing by a computer, and I'd rather listen to messy human jazz than perfect algorithmic music.

They should do this, but I continue to lump this in with other obvious stuff with broad support that like increasing the minimum wage, single payer healthcare, and having the government send out tax bills. Democrats haven't and won't do it because they like the way it is and don't want to fix it.
