I’m most likely never going to write a memoir, so this is what it was like to photograph the storming of the U.S. Capitol on January 6th. I got to The Ellipse a little bit after Trump’s speech started. I hadn’t planned on photographing the speech bc I wanted to be with the crowd.

Scene: a 21 Club table, mid 90s Trump: "I can build the greatest and most successful casino, anywhere I want on the face of the Earth." Jeff Gural: "That's absurd; there are plenty of places you would try and fail. For example, you could never build a casino on the White House grounds!" "Bet on it?"
