The principle that "Every state has an obligation to prevent genocide wherever it occurs" must extend to state institutions too (eg Creative Aust, SLV, SLQ, etc etc) â not just for the sake of Gazans, but also to protect local institutions from their own executives' surrender to political pressure.

Govt that campaigned on transparency has killed whistleblowing reform, knackered the NACC and forces NDAs on anyone advocating legl reform. Hasnât introduced a single useful reform in the area - or prosecuted a single serious corruption case - and now wants to cripple FOI too.

Iâm sure this point has been made elsewhere but not only did they openly lie about how many recommendations were in the robodebt final report, the one they erased was to reform FOI and now theyâre heading in the opposite direction. Surprise is not a feature of my reaction.

A Santos owned leaking tank of Methane in the middle of Darwin can be added to their CSG wells leaking throughout regional Aus. Locals should be furious that this was kept secret. I wonder how much the US govt knew they had a nearby Methane bomb before they turned Darwin into a US Marine Base.

Global societies are adding 40 billion townhouses worth of carbon dioxide to the atmosphere every year. As big as the earth is, when you think about it that way, it makes it exceptionally difficult to imagine how our fossil fuel use couldn't be having catastrophic effects.
