Can we be careful that taking issue with the proposed asylum changes is not opposing anti racism activity? The onus should be on the HS to evidence how these proposals will reduce racism.

So far the LBC presenters I’ve listened to are generally welcoming of the proposed asylum changes. JO’B has toyed with a gentle will this work. I’ve not noted any real analysis.

I’m not going to question the Home Sec on racism. It’s real. The idea that these asylum changes will address that and drive social cohesion is nonsense. Traditionally it’s been the right stocking fear to drive questionable policies. This is a different deployment of fear of racism.

I gather Labour has talked about safe and legal routes re asylum seekers but there’s no detail. Remember WFA cuts but look after those who need help and PIP cuts will get people into work? They were both lies.

The Home Secretary has claimed that these asylum changes will cut down on racism. I think the opposite is true. My understanding on this is derived from study. If anyone wants to disagree with me esp based on lived experience please educate me.

LBC and JO’B on why asylum seekers is so dominant in politics. A big factor in this had been the way and extent to which KS has legitimised and joined in on the bigotry of the rhetoric on this.

Re asylum proposals, creating a underclass of sub citizen temporary residents will not quell division it legitimises the views of the people fuelling division. It is the antithesis of promoting social cohesion.

Labour guy on Today, we need these asylum changes to stop people putting children on boats it’s child protection. A parent desperate enough to put a child on a boat will not be deterred by these changes you can’t treat people worse than a war zone did.

Who was the Labour guy on Today simply not answering questions about the impact of the asylum changes? We’ll work that out later. But he seems to argue that separating families will protect children and support community cohesion. Utter bollocks.

Please note there’s a tsunami of: this is a problem (asylum seekers) we need to do something this is something we need to do this. Engage analytic faculties and consider the impact of what’s being proposed, it’s racism it’s state cruelty.

Asylum seekers have not destabilised communities it’s a lie. It’s a fabricated crisis.

LBC and SF is very pro the proposed asylum law changes. Presenting it as if it’s this or a Reform government. I see it more in terms of if this then it’s a Reform government.
