It's going to take years to fully implement universal childcare but it is achievable. 3. Free/Fast Buses - this one it seems to me is going to take the longest for a number of reasons. Too many players are needed to make it happen. Not sure there is enough of an organizing base that pushes it.

Importantly, there are groups in NYC that have been organizing for universal childcare for years. In addition, DSA-NYC has made this their plank and are already organizing. Finally the new group affiliated with the campaign, Our TIme is doing the same. New Yorkers can plug in.

2. Universal childcare - once again we can look to de Blasio here as he was able with the support of Albany to bring forward Universal Pre-K - www.schools.nyc.gov/enrollment/e... - In NYC, children begin Pre-K in the calendar year they turn four. There is a Pre-K seat for every four-year-old.

Mayor de Blasio told his appointees to freeze the rent 3 times in 2015, 2016, and 2020! The board is responsible for voting based on research and public testimony, but the Mayor has huge influence over the process. Mayor Adams stacked the board before he left. But Zohran can restack it next year.

I've seen a couple of people asking if the three main campaign promises are achievable. And the answer is yes. 1. Freeze the Rent - The Mayor controls the Rent Guidelines Board, which votes every year on how much rents go up for over 2.4 million rent stabilized tenants.
