By analysing 336 KpSC genomes from human, animal, and environmental sources, we reveal strong population compartmentalisation. Environmental sublineages (farms) are highly diverse and persistent, while human-associated strains (clinical and WWTP) show fast turnover and multidrug resistance profiles.
