when I realised how unremarkable it was that 2 was the only even prime it really shook my foundation. Like ya dude p is the only prime divisible by p, it's the only peven prime.

I started reading "Katabasis", and the premise of the main character descending to Hell to retrieve the soul of her advisor bc otherwise she can't complete her dissertation is so good & honestly made me laugh out loud. It just made me think of my partner and his experiences thus far in his program.

We just ran a family math circle inspired by the math notes from the book at UNC-CH. We worked on activities with infinite variations: defining hard-to-define things (sandwiches, life), and rebuilding solids from projections. So much math joy! My slides: docs.google.com/presentation... #iTeachMath
