psychologists and ingroup/identity folks: any work you can point me to on research that looks at cases where an ingroup lacks a clear outgroup? I'm thinking this may be an intriguing idea for thinking about state identities in the US.

Some researchers don't discuss their future research plans for fear of being scooped. Not me. I drop bad ideas for unscrupulous people to 'steal'. - What are the neural correlates of Open Science practices? - What is the role of habits in learning a new skill through repetitive practice?

Does anyone have recommmendation for papers in "mainstream" political science that problematize this polarization framing?

To reiterate one of my academic themes for 2025: It’s a real problem that students feel incapable of operating without genAI, particularly given that they do worse with it. I don’t care if slackers slack, but if insecurity x manipulation shields well-meaning students from their education, I care.

Also for the international crowd: #Instagram censors “Democrat” as a search term, while allowing “Republican” and seems to prioritize anti-leftwing content in search queries for alternative search terms. #DSA
