📽️ This week, I recommend another #shortfilm! (tryna avoid less mainstream stuff) “Peter and Ben” (2007) Directed by Pinny Grylls. It’s without a doubt one of the most heartwarming films I’ve ever seen. A man and his sheep. Do yourself a favour and take 10 minutes out of your day to watch this.

I stayed up until 4am for NOTHING!

It’s that time again! And this time, I recommend a #shortfilm, oooooh! “La Légende du Crabe Phare” A seven minute #animated short about a giant crab. Simple, yet effective. Definitely worth a watch.

This week (definitely didn’t miss 4 other weeks) I recommend: #KnivesOut (2019) A fantastic modern murder mystery #movie, with some great character work and plot twists, written and directed by @rianjohnson.bsky.social Looking forward to seeing #WakeUpDeadMan soon!

SUPER behind on these! This week I recommend “Sorry to Bother You.” A fantastic and weird #movie that has much to say about the working world and pyramids of power within the workplace. I highly recommend for all those looking for something breaking out from the standard conventions of #cinema.

Today I recommend “Bride of Frankenstein” (1935) A movie most people will know of but perhaps not seen. I genuinely think it holds up among modern movies of today. One of the most engaging & somewhat emotional films I have watched in recent years. A great gateway into the universal monster movies.

This week I’m recommending a #movie called “Shallow Grave.” A #DannyBoyle #film about 3 friends who discover their new roommate is dead, leaving behind large sum of money. They keep the cash & hide the body… only that’s not where the story ends. A surreal thrilling time. Well worth a watch.

Switching it up this week & going for a #miniseries #MidnightMass created by @mikeflanaganfilm.com is available to watch on @Netflix.com. A fantastic gothic thriller that is best experienced with little to no knowledge of what it’s actually about. I’ll say it’s supernatural & a creepy good time.

I’m someone who is very ignorant to the world of #documentary so I choose not to comment much on that side of #film. But, I just watched “He Who Made Monsters: The Life and Art of Jack Pierce.” An AMAZING documentary about a man whose work shall never be forgotten even if he himself has.

This evening I sat down to watch the new episode of #Peacemaker… and @jamesgunn.bsky.social I would like to hold you responsible for my near death experience. I have never fully lost the ability to breathe over such a ridiculous joke. 10/10.

Today’s #movie recommendation (actually on time this week!) is #Manhunter. Adapted from the #RedDragon book, it features Will Graham (William Petersen) and Hannibal Lecter (Brian Cox) before he was played by Anthony Hopkins. A film by Michael Mann, with a beautiful aesthetic and gorgeous score.

Hey, guess who forgot to continue the weekly thing! Today (what should have been Friday) I recommend “Presence.” A #movie by #StevenSoderbergh where a family moves into a new house and tensions are high. The stakes raise further when all within the house are not as they seem. Best to go in blind.

Gonna try use this place to give out weekly #movie (and #tv) recommendations. This week, I recommend “Shadow of The Vampire.” A behind the scenes look at the filming of the original #Nosforatu, with a twist… what if the actor playing the vampire wasn’t an actor at all and truly was… a vampire?

I recently had the pleasure of talking to E. Elias Merhige (Director of #Begotten and #ShadowOfTheVampire among other truly magical films) via DM regarding his film Polia & Blastema. An absolutely wonderful human being and filmmaker. Someone I could not have more respect for.

#cardiff is the only place where when I’m walking through it I think “wow, this is my favourite place,” and when I’m driving through it I think “fucking flatten it and start again.”
