I love the fact that Miyazaki has still been making comics this whole time, but sneaking them into publications that wouldn't be considered "manga" as most would think. Once a mangaka, always a mangaka.

Been studying from this book for a while now. Doesn't include anything from the movie, but it's very comprehensive when it comes to the anime series. Great reference if you can scoop a copy, but seems like copies on ebay are getting prohibitively expensive, so good luck.

Y'all, I just got back from getting an early look at the big Chris Ware show that opens at the Billy Ireland this weekend. This thing is going to blow your mind! They've completely redone the permanent Gallery as well and it's beautiful.

I appreciate KS surfacing just how much of this friction and censorship is due to payment processors and I wish more companies would put this stake in the ground rather than screwing over artists. If every company did this, payment processors would have to buckle.

Farewell to one of the most influential anime composers of all time: Ohno Yuji, the jazz pianist whose music for the Lupin III franchise is amongst the most iconic in Japan, has passed. Ohno was 84 years old, and had continued performing with his band, Yuji Ohno & Lupintic Six, until quite recently.

Shonen Jump (Shueisha) is not like Marvel, DC, IDW, etc. Instead, it's more like Image Comics where creator owned indie comics are the main focus. This could be a great opportunity for indie comics and offer new opportunities for animators and studios. Let's all help make this a reality!
