i’m so tired. so physically tired. it’s a sectionals week at the photo studio, picking up couch sectional components, carrying them on slash off set, putting them down, then repeat. it’s like five straight days of leg day but leg day is eight hours long

my working theory is that my roommates ex who used to live with her here in this house is living in the basement, living off his prepper stuff he stashed down there, coming up for tortillas when rations run low. “go down and check” how about you go down and check! basements are famously scary…..

and there’s just no way it was bugs or a mouse or a rat or feral cat or something, it’s just too clean a job.

but then isn’t “eating 4-6 tortillas” really low stakes for a ghost or some random home intruder? i think so but then that’s not me. i don’t have the lived experience but ill listen. i will learn.

“roommate ate them” i tell myself, but upon peeking into her room i realized….. she’s not there. her dog isn’t there. her dog crate isn’t there. her laptop isn’t here. back to ghostintrudermouse!

this morning, i walked into the kitchen and saw the tortilla bag, empty, wedged neatly between the bowls on our counter that hold our garlics and lemons and such. there were like nearly half a dozen in there when i went to bed.

my roommate has been gone upstate for four days so my first thought was ghost? second thought, intruder? third thought, considerate and dexterous mess averse mouse? finally i realized my roommate probably just got home even though i didn’t hear her (and uhhhhh i would have heard her but ok…..)

so last night before bed, I walked through the kitchen and noticed that my roommate’s bag of flour tortillas was open and two of the tortillas were laid out on the counter outside the bag.
