📢 To decarbonize not only the power sector but also the steel sector, we are calling on banks to reduce financing for fossil fuels and to significantly increase financing for sustainable alternatives enabling a ratio of at least 6:1 to be achieved by 2030.

The steel sector is currently responsible for 11% of global CO2 emissions, mostly because of the use of metallurgical coal in its production. Decarbonizing this sector is a priority, and the technologies to do so already exist. They require large amounts of electricity.
