Across 109 countries, 1.1 billion people live in "acute multidimensional" poverty, based on factors like infant mortality and access to housing, sanitation, electricity and education. About 80% of these are exposed to at least one significant climate hazard - heat, drought, floods and air pollution.

On Wednesday 24th Sept, 7pm, join trade unionists and climate activists to hear what's planned for a global mobilisation on 15th November during COP30 and a workplace day of action on 14th November - and more to come in a year of trade union climate action.

Scotland's oil and gas workers feel insecure and unsupported. They don't need soundbites, they need a workers transition to renewable energy: investment in ports and wind manufacturing, fully funded training, improved conditions, trade union rights, job guarantees, and increased public ownership.

Today marks 20 years on from Hurricane Katrina. New Orleans' working class is still fighting for justice.

Without lightweight wildfire PPE, firefighters face an increased risk of heatstroke, burns and exhaustion. Last week, firefighters from five services were sent to tackle the Holt Heath blaze without proper PPE. We need urgent investment so firefighters are equipped to tackle the climate emergency.
