Went to an open mat this evening and let me tell you I’m glad I’m 30 and can compete in the masters divisions because these teenagers and early 20s jiu-jitsu practitioners are absolute killers. Spent the whole session fighting for my life haha great craic though

The money side of comics seems to mess with my motivation some times. So I’m thinking I might just start writing the script to a graphic novel and not worry about how it will be made or pitching or any of that bullshit. Just gonna write a 100+ page script for the love of the game.

Success would mean comics is my day job and not my side hustle, hobby, or just a dream. I’ll keep dreaming, hobbying, and side hustling, but the end goal is a way off.

I get why they do it but one of my least favourite things in comics is the over explaining in dialogue. Like a character mentions that they know another character. But when the character is revealed they’ll always have dialogue with their name and who they are. THE OTHER CHARACTER ALREADY KNOWS

First jiu-jitsu competition since 2019. Only returned to training at the end of last year after a near 4 year break. Tough to go up against some talented blue and purple belts but I had fun!
