It's almost like there isn't actually any money to cover the investments and partnerships these companies keep announcing to boost their valuation. It's a shell game to make things look good when it's actually the same cash being passed back and forth and called profit every time.

The thing is, these states are so heavily gerrymandered already that the easy lines have already been drawn.

Yes. The way to create more GOP seats is to remove GOP voters from adjacent districts. For example making two GOP+7 districts into GOP+5, to move another district from Dem+2 to GOP+2. But if the overall vote is a Dem+6 wave, then they could lose all 3 seats (1 Dem+4 and two Dem+1).

The math may be slightly off, but the overall point stands: a big enough swing turns your gerrymandered majority into a disastrous wipeout, and that isn't a gradual process - it's a cliff when the overall vote gets to a certain point.

Imagine your gerrymander has given your 50-50 state a lot of seats that are 55-45 in your favour, and a couple that are 90-10 for your opponents. Normally that gets you a huge and safe majority. But if you're so unpopular that the overall vote is 60-40 against you, all your safe seats get wiped out

Yeah, gerrymandering isn’t magic. If you redraw 8 districts from GOP +15 to GOP +8 so you can pick up 4 Dem districts, a Dem +9 midterm wipes you out.
