25 years ago a colleague from the Niels Bohr Institute showed me Agpalilik, a 20 ton fragment of the 50+ ton Cape York iron meteorite. Heated and cooled throughout its cosmic life, most of this mass is a single crystal, not the typical aggregate of random domains. Annealed to perfection, sky metal.
