I've been digging my way through the wonderful world of BSDF, PFD, VNDF, GGX, Montecarlo etc. The crappy thing is that, depending on some material properties (roughness, specular, metallic) it's always a different model that looks better than the others. I just want one model to rule them all.

Well I'll just have to make my own gold then. #webgpu

Working on new pathtracers; one in webgl and one in webgpu (which is new to me). So I'm creating a lot of test images, always fun. Goal is to have the webgpu version blow the webgl version out of the water in terms of speed.

I'm quite busy building an optical raytracer to model light sources, optics and such. The core pathtracing / raymarching engine wasn't too hard. Developing the gui takes most of the time. Still a lot of work to be done, but its starting to look like something useful. And its fast!
