Many full time creatives have “invisible safety nets” like bread-winning partners, trust funds, external support, etc. No shame on anyone, but it creates a false vision of success. The cost of going to cons alone on top of hoping to eat as a freelancer are untenable, IMO.

I am back from surgery and have been in recovery for over a week! I have been drawing on my iPad while resting! The surgery didn't go as planned but still went well! The post op pain and fatigue sucks but I'm so blessed to have received so much encouragement! TY! ❤️ #pokemon #humanartist #fanart

The work I just finished for @elyseexplosion.fyi is a great way to show you all my 💫✨️absolute dogshit process✨️💫. All the finished images were built on the super basic sketches I drew live on a call with elyse. Having even super rough thumbnails to show a client makes final work so much easier.

The trick to productivity is to make your job the literal only thing that shuts your anxiety down. I've been ruminating on 9/11 for over an hour. Drawing brings me back to my own body.

Im trying to use supplies ive bought but never used to complete work i started years ago but dropped. This was the 72 count arteza watercolor pencils i bought and never touched. Also black ink and white paint pen. The background color is a digital addition.

i have no concept of pacing. i will work nonstop for a while and then explode and you won't see art from me again for 6 months.

mother's hands will mend me with needle and with thread but what is fixed was broken and i see that instead

this was originally drawn on march 21st, 2020. the first page in a brand new sketchbook that i am currently about half way through. i used very cheap oil pastels i bought probably 12 years ago and made some mistakes along the way but i kind of love her.

i do not understand the moderation label "sexually suggestive, does not include nudity" on every piece of mine that *does* include nudity but is *not* sexually suggestive. meanwhile, all of my pin ups in literal lingerie don't trigger the moderation labels.
