Well well! After being so loud about it being a terrible idea, Wittman just voted on the House bill to extend the ACA subsidies. Notably, he did NOT vote yay on the earlier motion to openly debate the bill - Kiggans in VA02 did. Are they exchanging uncomfortable votes? 🤔

4) increased funding and militarization of law enforcement. Across the board, even campus police look dramatically different from how I remember them just 20 years ago.

3) we have been allowing law enforcement more and more leeway when they use brutal force against protesters. Many times law enforcement have brutalized protesters with mostly zero consequences.

Ok let's be specific on how our national leaders failed us: 1) we have a serious and persistent law enforcement violence problem. Law enforcement regularly use deadly force against unarmed people. 2) we've been conflating immigrants and crime to score cheap political points for a long time

It took many many cowardly, cynical, selfish, short sighted decisions by ALL our national leaders for us to get to the point where schools have to be cancelled to protect our kids from fascism.
