Josh and I rented a decent 1-bedroom in West Seattle (on California just north of Morgan) for $695 in 2006. We were baristas, probably averaging 30 hours/week each. We weren't living a lavish lifestyle, but were perfectly comfy. We bought a Nintendo Wii! It felt like a splurge, but we did it.

Swung by a nursery today and found these monarch caterpillars swarming the butterfly milkweed (asclepias tuberosa). I bought a couple of the milkweed but left the caterpillars behind because I didn't think they'd appreciate the car ride. But they brightened my day! 🐛🦋
