Yesterday was the 30th anniversary of the Disability Discrimination Act. The absolute tumbleweed from the media & gov shows just how much they want to bury how much disabled people fought and still fight for our rights.

Abled folk imagine being disabled and unable to work like a day of annual leave, where they can do whatever they want. In reality, it’s like a sick day, where you are unable to do anything you want, because your body is unable to function. And not just one day, but every day.

Life’s too short to argue with people online, and even too short to think about the ones you held back from arguing with. Don’t give them your time. It’s not worth it.

Tip for creative folk/artists out there who are selling their work online. When you get really special comments, emails or messages about why someone loves your work, keep them. Take a screenshot and keep them. Then you can look back later when you're having an artists block or whatever.

For many of us, the most we can do is shout and advocate on Social Media. Because… well we’re actually disabled. And it means we don’t have the time, energy, or capacity to do any more. And for some they can’t even do this. Doesn’t mean they’re bad people.
